Gene Panis
An Entrepreneur, Artist / Creator and published Author
Gene's family moved from the Hawaiian Islands to Southern California in 1959. Growing up in Southern California at an early age Gene loved drawing and creating. An entrepreneur in his early twenties, Gene started the first courier service for freight companies and U.S. Customs Service at LAX International airport in 1985. He quickly expanded his business to local trucking to cities in California for over 15 years. Health issues forced the sale of his businesses and throughout his long journey to recovery Gene found himself writing fiction stories and later discovering his passion to the world of Art. As a self-taught artist he explores in a wide range of mediums, using various materials such as wire, wood, driftwood, resins, acrylic paints and screen painting on window screens. Screen painting is a folk art which started in the early 1900's in Baltimore Marlyn. Gene has a unique approach to his screen paintings by building his own custom frames and developing a special paint mixture to apply to the screen. Gene's screen paintings has been shown in many art shows, the Cameron Art Museum and other art events in North Carolina. Becoming a top artist in the method of Screen Painting..
Christine Panis
Photography and Artist
Born in a suburban town near Boston Massachusetts, Christine grew up within a family of artists. As a self-taught artist mainly paints with acrylic and with her husband she also paints on screens. Christine's experience in art took a turn when she was working at a Boston Art Galley which lead her passion into photography. Learning about the overall process of developing film and taking pictures, she found herself working as an freelance photographer hired to take pictures on special events in the Boston area.
